Cool Climate Aussie Shiraz! Yes there is such a thing and it does exist and this shows when you taste this wine. It can actually be poured and enjoyed within thirty minutes rather than waiting for hours for it to get going. Soft and alluring, with some really delicate fruit intensity, not the full on Shiraz one expects from most warmer climate regions of Australia.
Colour: Deep and vibrant red colour
Nose: Dense mulberries and plums fruit characters are backed by spice and hints of black pepper. There are cedary characters, from the quality French oak, in the background. Rich and intensely flavoured, yet still shows finesse and balance.
Palate: The front palate is filled by ripe plum fruits and subtle, cedar and French oak characters. The spice and pepper notes flow through the mid-palate and the firm yet balanced tannins provide a great structure and drive to the wine. The tannins combine with a wonderful acid line to give a long and lingering finish.
