“Despite its age its a wonder wine and showing so well. It’s exciting to get a grip of a wine, now 7 years old, thats still drinking beautifully after all these years and with the oak so balanced still. A lovely combination of North east Italian wine grapes: Tocai Fruilano, Pinot Blanc and Grigio but with 5 months of oak to give the wine extra punch.”
Winemakers notes
” As in the Fruili district of Italy, we created Sesso as a traditional high quality white wine blend of Tocai Fruilano, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Grigio, all of which are grown in the foothills and bench lands overlooking the Russian river in Mendocino. This wine was fermented and aged for five months in French Burgundy oak barrels of which 34% were new. Aromas of ripe melons and dried fruits make this a perfect wine for grilled fish, roasted poultry and salt ripe cheeses.”
