Mr Whirly says;
” Two sublime ” stickies” from Australia that really do pair perfectly with Plum pudding ( Christmas Pudding), Lillypilly Fiumara 7, which is actually a very tricky pudding to find the perfect wine that matches so well and a sweet wine that has always been a favourite of Mr Whirly’s and that I have imported for over 20 years now, Lillypilly Noble blend 2017, that pairs perfectly with a rich steamed ginger sponge pudding or something equally similar and delicious.

“Cross between a port and Pedro Ximenez A blend of special cuvee’s from over many years, this wine is the perfect match for Plum pudding and Mince pies as well as a fine Colston Basset Stilton.”

Winemakers tasting note:
“Beautiful tawny colour with rich golden amber on the edge. Aromatic ripe fruit and spice. Velvety texture, luscious, mouth filling and lingering flavours. This wine is made of a rich combination of vintages, some over 25 years old. This wine is a testament to the hard work of Pasquale and Angela Fiumara and their seven sons, in establishing the family owned vineyards and winery. The first release of this rich, soft fortified wine is named “Domenic Blend” in memory of the eldest Fiumara brother.“

Mr whirly says;
” This wine is made from just two grapes, Sauvignon Blanc, 83% and Muscat, 17%. It’s always been an evocative and tropical fruit intense wine, which gives it that point of difference from a Sauternes for example. This wine is indeed full of delights and will pair beautifully with a Tarte tatin or Ginger Sponge pudding on Christmas or Boxing day.

A blend of Sauvignon blanc and Muscat. Full orange-gold. Lifted ripe apricot, vanilla cream. Candied peel and ginger flavours. Has freshness and line, and just enough of everything except perhaps bottle age. Give it a bit more time to fill out and complex further, but is still very good refined drinking now. 375ml. 12% alc vol”
