” This wine has been on my radar for a few months now. Actually many months so it’s good to take the plunge and import something a little bit different. This is a wine of paradox’s; it’s a grape that no one has heard of at all hardly and yet it’s the most widely planted white grape in Spain and also up until the last century the world. It’s normally blended, used as a “work horse” grape therefore for that reason has no real standing on its own. I am all for the “underdog” to achieve and I am delighted therefore to introduce this wine to the UK wholesale market, farm shops and small retailers.
When I tasted it a few months ago the wine was vibrant in colour, slightly cloudy in its look (which I liked by the way and in no way detracted from the quality I felt on the palate but added to the mystery) )but very much exciting in its feel on the mouth with a positive acidity and energy, grapefruit and lime zest. I would pair this wine with smoked Salmon or white meat like Turkey or Goose.”
