Description
Bandol! Wow, what a great place. Nestled into the pine tree clad hills of the mediterranean coastline, I absolutely adore this place and this wine. In 2011 I arrived here with Karen Frankel, a very old friend from San Francisco and we set up camp one windy night as the Scirocco wind shot through the hills above the town. It was the start of a two day search for a great, new Bandol and finally at the end of the 2nd day we found this little place. They make wonderful Bandol and are a treasure in the Whirly camp of wines. Here’s a link to my intial words on the wine on this website in 2015
Mr Whirly says”
“Bandol has to be at least 70% Mourvedre. This wine contains 90% with some parcels of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah. The 2014 needs time still so if you can me patient lay it down for a few more years. But if you can’t decant for 3 hours and enjoy with some Peppered steak or simply sip and savour one evening in the garden this summer?!”
