Description

Mr Whirly says:

” Delicious and unusual wine. Rather like Dolcetto, this grape has been ripped out of the ground and Nebbiolo has replaced it. Manzone are one only a few vineyards to still make wine from these grapes. This grape, rather like Chardonnay has wonderful ageing qualities, is slightly savoury in it palate with some herbaceous notes too. Lovely with pork and a rich cream sauce. Takes rich food well.”

Tasting notes:

100% white Rossese, an autochthonous vine saved from extinction by Giovanni Manzone in an old family vineyard. Fermented and aged in oak for 12 months on its lees. Beautiful, tropical and exotic nose, a perfume in itself, on the palate it is refreshing and citrus with an apparent weight from its time on its lees.
