Mr whirly says:

” A Bordeaux Grand Cru wine, that still has times on its hands and lots of weight too. Lay down for up to 5 years ( 2025). Rich and earthy wine, tight fruits that still need to develop but after 3 hours of decanting begin to develop. Smart Bordeaux for the pound sterling.”

Millesima Bordeaux wrote:

” The vineyard is located in the Haut Medoc, on a gravelly and siliceous quaternary terroir. The 2006 vintage is one of the greatest wines of this Chateau. It displays an almost black colour. Broad and opulent, the palate possesses a clear, bold finish full of freshness. This is a powerful wine with huge potential.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
The 2006 Cantemerle was the surprise package of the blind tasting at Farr Vintners’ horizontal. It has a conservative nose with rosemary and undergrowth scents that open nicely in the glass, but retain a sense of classicism. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, lightly spiced red berry fruit, sage and white pepper, quite persistent on the finish, which feels very pure. What an outstanding 2006 Claret – a Cantemerle that punches well above its weight. Tasted April 2016. Bordeaux Haut-Medoc
